An Overview Of Braun Mobility Products

Being able to easily get around is something that most of us take for granted. Many people, though, are confined to wheelchairs and don’t have that luxury. Braun mobility products could possibly help them out.

Not so many years ago, people in wheelchairs had to depend on other people to help them get around. This was especially true if they wanted to leave home and go out into public.

Now, however, products are available that can help ease that burden. Wheelchair van conversions, sold under the BraunAbility brand, can be built on either a Dodge, Chrysler, or Toyota van chassis.

These vans feature a sliding door, a hydraulic or fold-out ramp, and a kneeling system that are all operated via a hand-held remote control. They can also feature a lowered floor, which would permit a wheelchair-bound person to be at proper eye level for seeing out. Removable seating can make room for the wheelchair, and can be easily re-installed when needed for non-wheelchair users. Vans can either be side-entry or rear-entry models. (The latter type is handy where parking spaces are more constrained.)

The afore-mentioned “kneeling” system causes the van to lower its suspension as the door slides open. This decreases the angle at which the wheelchair needs to go up or down the ramp.

With this type of system, a handicapped person can enter and exit the van without assistance, and even drive.

Another more economical model is available for people who travel with an attendant, rather than drive themselves. This model still features a fold-down ramp and room for a wheelchair. But, it also comes with a standard, manually operated door that the attendant will open.

The products just described are geared toward personal use. However, other products are available that are appropriate for commercial transit companies.

a. marginal revenue product equals marginal product times marginal revenue. Since marginal product falls due to the law of diminishing returns, so too does marginal revenue product.
