Stair Chair Lift: A Valuable Device for Your Building

No doubt, stair chair lift is a valuable addition in any residence or other kinds of buildings. These high priced devices are actually worth of your money. The reason is that they offer many advantages for physically challenged people. Climbing stairs is always a big problem for such individuals. Chair lift has provided a permanent solution to this problem.

Stair chair lift can be automatic or semi-automatic. Automatic lifts are somewhat more convenient for the users. All types of lifts make use of particular system that helps to drive the lift up and down. Usually old types of lifts make use of cable system. In this type, the cables help to ascend and descend the entire chair lift. This method is not very much suitable. Nowadays, modern types of lifts have rack system or pinion system. Both of these systems are more efficient than old cable method. These operate on the basis of teeth and gear mechanism. They are preferred than cable system.

Stair chair lift requires some efficient power source for proper functioning. Normally, residence lift has a motor. They can be operated through this motor. In fact, chair lifts are usually powered through battery or electrical system. The battery needs to be charged at least once a year. Otherwise, it will not provide sufficient energy for driving your lift system. The electrical based chair lifts are operated through electrical energy. Their installation also required some different methods. Actually, you need a grounded outlet for electrical type of lifts. You can not install these outlets by yourself. Electricians can perform this task for you. So, you need to call an electrician for fitting this outlet. He will install this system before fitting your desired chair lift with staircase. They require a little more effort in the process of installation. It is also essential to have some back up power source with these electrical chair lifts. You will need another power source at times of emergency like electrical failure. It will help to keep your stair chair lift functional in all situations.

Question by Katie: Do you think the electric chair is cruel and unusual punishment?
This is not a question about being for or against capital punishment. What I want to know is if you think that the electric chair is cruel and unual punishment. Isn”t death penalty done by the following methods?:
1. electric chair
2. lethal injection
3. shooting range
4. gas chamber

If there are more or if these are wrong let me know.

Also, I realize that we shouldn’t have pity on child molestors, rapists and murderers, but still there should be standards on the methods used in the death penalty. Do you agree?
I agree with you to an extent Stormyjoe but we are not living in barbarian times. With your rationalization we could just cut someones limbs off one by one or torture or starve them. We don’t do that. We HAVE to have some standards that are not considered cruel. Electric chair to me seems cruel.

The second part of this video shows the real execution of Leon Czolgosz who was the anarchist that executed president McKinley in 1901. The execution was filmed by Thomas Edison. Trial and execution of Leon Czolgosz. On September 13, the day before McKinley succumbed to his wounds, Czolgosz was transferred from the police headquarters, since the headquarters were undergoing repairs, to the Erie County Women’s Penitentiary. On the 16th he was taken to the Erie County Jail before being arraigned before County Judge Emery. After the arraignment, he was transferred to Auburn State Prison. A grand jury indicted Czolgosz on September 16, who spoke freely with his guards, yet refused all interaction with Robert C. Titus and Lorin L. Lewis, the prominent judges-turned-attorneys assigned to defend him, and with the expert psychiatrist sent to test his sanity. The district attorney at trial was Thomas Penney, assisted by a Mr. Haller, whose performance was described as “flawless”. Although Czolgosz answered that he was pleading “Guilty”, the presiding Judge Truman C. White overruled him and entered a “Not Guilty” plea on his behalf. In the nine days from the death of President McKinley on September 14, to Czolgosz’s trial on September 23, Czolgosz’s lawyers, Lewis and Titus, had practically no time to prepare a defense since Czolgosz refused to speak to either one of them. As a result, Lewis argued at the trial that Czolgosz cannot be found guilty for the murder of the president

  4. Yak Rider says:

    Utah uses a firing squad.
Deleware hangs them by the neck.

  5. smiley girl says:

Yes the electric chaie is cruel and unusual punishment because it causes a person pain The best way for a person to die from capital punishment is lethal injection because it is assumed to be painless.

  6. kluwe99 says:

I believe that the method of execution should fit the crime, the heinous the crime that was commited the more heinous the execution.

  7. Annie Oakley says:

    Nope

It is terrible to watch, but the person being executed just feels the initial shock and then it is over.

Washington state also allows death row inmates to choose hanging.

  8. Stormyjoe says:

did the ones doing the crimes give special consideration to the victims? doubt it. I am all for capital punishment no matter the method.
I think lethal injection is to easy, they should feel some thing for what they have done.

  9. credible_bulk says:

Child molestation and rape are not punished with death in the US.

  10. right you are ken says:

It is not cruel in my opinion. Hanging also exists.

Each state decides which methods can be used in that particular state.

Personally, I think we should bring back public hangings.

The proper term is firing squad, not firing range.

  11. snagelfritz says:

Electric Chair OK, you get a charge out of it. If, I had a choice I guess lethal injection of Scotch Whiskey be my choice though.

  12. krazy kat says:

    i agree

  13. good4u06@verizon.net says:

Do u think that murdering someone is cruel and unusual punishment? If u do the crime u must do the time. If you kill a whole family, what should u get life or the death penalty. They need the death penalty. Just like chold molesters, rapists and any other idiot who does harm to other people.

  14. carolinatinpan says:

I think they should die the same way they killed. I also believe that 10 or 15 years is too long to allow for appeals. I would give them one year. Then the sentence would be carried out. It costs too much money to allow people who don’t deserve to live to enjoy living while they families of their victims suffer.

  15. artic ranger says:

It may be cruel and maybe unusual, the person recieving it is sure to have earned it.

  16. macdoodle says:

yes, there are documentary programs showing many don’t die for a long time and its pure hell as they burn up inside slowly or there have been instances they have to be killed another way due to malfunctions.

i believe in certain rare instances like Jeffrey Damer or Manson or a few mass murderers or Hitler, Saddam.. the maybe the guy in North Korea. where they are torturers of many and they’ve been proved to be pure evil. and are always to be a danger.

but the way we put pets to sleep would seem more humane. i dont beleive in an eye for an eye . but i dont think we can afford to keep them alive or pay 100 grand a year for thier housing till they die. often in federal prison they get better than the disabled and sick homeless do.

i understand Saddam is to be hanged? every country has their own set of punishments.

  17. Yeah, it's good says:

No matter what the method of execution, the guilty is getting off pretty easy. Just consider the pain and suffering of the victim(s). The b@stard should be tortured for two weeks and then executed publicly (that is if he/she survives the torture). Your question is part of what’s wrong with this country…we’re to d@mn soft on crime. Don’t you think the crime rate would drop if we started taking action and quit being so F-ing PC?

  18. Baby Poots says:

To my knowledge Washington and New Hampshire still provide for hanging to prisoners awaiting the death penalty.

No, I do not think, or believe, the electric chair is cruel and unusual punishment for someone who has committed a malicious cruel and unusual act resulting in the death of another.

Those who commit heinous acts of barbarism, and are judged by a jury to a death sentence need to be “put to death” immediately, without recourse.

The American judicial system has allowed criminals sentenced to death the right to appeal their sentence. Victims, those who have lost their lives and families of victims, do not have the luxury of appealing. The judicial system has, and is, exerting their power over the average American citizen; who, unfortunately still believes the courts are for justice. The courts are for power: theirs!

  19. Opinionated says:

Yes, I would prefer the lethal injection if it is done right.

  20. ♫kanis.lupus♫ says:

Why the hell should we be kind to such animals – personally I think the legal system has become TOO soft. Bring back some of those Roman methods – Roman candles (wrapping in wax and setting them alight) or the old trick of feeding to the lions. The “kinder” we make the penalties, the less deterrent they pose!
