Is anyone else annoyed by this soft language we use now days. I guess it goes hand in hand with political correctness. Here is something I found hilarious yet sad at the same time.

“Media Tips for the 27th National Veterans Wheelchair Games” These were some of the interesting bits:

When referring to the athletes, they are “veterans with disabilities” or “veterans who use wheelchairs for mobility” or “veterans who use whellchairs” or “veterans who are wheelchair users.” The term “physically challenged” is also acceptable.
Do not use “disabled” or “handicapped.”
Do not use “wheelchair bound.”
Veterans compete by level of injury or level of ability (not level of disability)
It is OK to say “differently abled”
When referring to non-wheelchair users, say “able bodied” or “non-wheelchair users.”
When interviewing someone in a wheelchair, it is fine to pull up a chair to get on the same level. Do not kneel to do this. If there is no chair available, stand.
At the first two answers, this is the same arrogance I’m talking about. Perhaps we should ask someone who is disabled on what do you wish to be called. Oh and by the way you should learn to read the question, or is it too much to ask?
